July 20, 2023 - Announcement in The Cap Times of World Premiere live performance of GUELLEN, KANSAS at Broom Street Theater in Madison, Wisconsin.

April 20, 2023 - Announcement in Broadway World of production of GUELLEN, KANSAS for TRU Speak Benefit.

December 8, 2021 - Interview with playwright Alex Goldberg, director Lisa Sanaye Dring, and the cast of THE SIX PIANOS OF MIRADERO in Glendale News Press. “Everyone’s got their sordid past and he thought that he successfully buried his, but he was wrong,”

December 1, 2021 - THE SIX PIANOS OF MIRADERO interview with playwrights Alex Goldberg and Peppur Chambers in Pasadena Weekly: "Goldberg’s “Annexing the Palisades” was a highlight of season one... History provided similarly fertile source material when Goldberg, an American Studies major in college, was researching ideas for what became “The Six Pianos of Miradero” — named after the hillside mansion built in 1904 by Leslie C. Brand, the land speculator who, as his wife declares early in the play, put Glendale on the map."

October 29, 2021 - THE SIX PIANOS OF MIRADERO article on Broadway World: "Playwright Alex Goldberg is fascinated by secret L.A. history. In Season One, he explored the true story behind ruins of an abandoned WWII Nazi compound still standing in 90272 (Pacific Palisades). In Season Three, his 91201: Glendale, "The Six Pianos of Miradero" acquaints us with the strange history behind Glendale's Brand Park. Based on true events and historical figures; the play looks at the nature of philanthropy and the true inheritors of Glendale founding father Leslie C. Brand's largesse."

April 15, 2021 - Finger Lakes Times - ANNEXING THE PALISADES will have a stage reading by Geneva Theatre Guild on May 6th as part of their virtual play reading series.

February 3, 2021 - Circling The News - An article about ANNEXING THE PALISADES and the real life story of the Murphy Ranch which inspired the play.

December 17, 2020 - ANNEXING THE PALISADES review in L.A. Weekly: "Enchanting and original... The Murphy Ranch story was in fact a major scandal after the war, and the piece does a brilliant job of linking it to more recent political actions as well as Los Angeles mythology. It often contains this gem of dialogue: “Before Europe falls, we need a proper balustrade!”"

November 23, 2020 - ANNEXING THE PALISADES review in Los Angeles Times: "Listening to the six stories one after another is like taking a whistle-stop tour of the weirder corners of our diverse metropolis, on an unusually comfortable private bus with surprisingly high-quality audio and multiple tour guides who subscribe to a dizzying variety of dramaturgical approaches... ANNEXING THE PALISADES... is probably the most chilling chapter of the collection."

November 21, 2020 - ANNEXING THE PALISADES review in L.A. Theatre Bites: "Chilling and engaging the entire time… slow burning, but doesn’t get boring or stagnant…powerful... It intrigued me. I gasped. It brought up interesting points. I give Annexing the Palisades an 8.5 out of 10. It’s a great show.”

November 16, 2020 - ANNEXING THE PALISADES review in L.A. Splash Mag: "Often loosely based on real-life events, this sextet is as informative as it is entertaining."

October 29, 2020 - ANNEXING THE PALISADES article in Pali Post: "Pacific Palisades to be featured in 'Zip Code Plays' Podcast Series"

October 13, 2020 - ANNEXING THE PALISADES article on Broadway World: "Set in 1939, this chilling tale based on a little-known piece of L.A. history stars Nike Doukas, Harry Groener and Adrian LaTourelle."

October 13, 2018 - IT IS DONE review: The Indy: Goldberg’s Twilight Zone scripting and repartee makes us wonder long enough just who’s the cat and who’s the mouse in this chilly little trio about unpaid spiritual debts and the high price of collections.

October 6, 2018 - IT IS DONE review: Triangle Arts Review: "Filled with Hawthorne -esque atmosphere and delivery, this creepy show is the perfect play to keep you up all night. Different, unique, and subtly evocative, IT IS DONE is a definite must-see this Halloween season."

October 5, 2018 - IT IS DONE review: CVNC Online Arts Journal: "A deliciously fun little show... packs a truly satisfying punch... A delightfully spooky and tremendously entertaining little pack of dynamite."

February 15, 2018 - CLOSURE review: "Plenty of movies have skewered the sunbaked air of Los Angeles and the strange people who breathe it – Mick Jackson’s L.A. Story and Robert Altman’s The Player remain two of my favorites – but folks, if you find somewhere showing writer-director Alex Goldberg’s Closure following its world premiere at the DC Independent Film Festival on February 17th, you might want to catch this whimsical gem – and make room for its sardonically witty fish-out-of-Midwestern-water tale on the Hollywood-as-another-planet list." Elias Savada, Film International

October 23, 2012 - AMERICA'S BRIGHTEST STAR review: “Goldberg’s impudent and cheeky comedy makes great fun out of America’s love/hate relationship with fame and reality television... America's Brightest Star is an impressive beginning for Railroad Playhouse.  It would be a shame to let this play leave the station without seeing it.”  Cynthia O. Topps, Times Herald Record

October 22, 2012 - AMERICA'S BRIGHTEST STAR review: “A ripe multi-media rapid-fire-succession stage-show embedded with mature scenes…Goldberg developed a dialogue littered with double entendres twirling alongside a subtle metaphor about the life of bees…The play is both funny and avant-garde.” Happy Hudson Valley

October 19, 2012 - AMERICA'S BRIGHTEST STAR review: “A carefully crafted tale of innocence inside a laugh out loud dark comedy that by the end, has you somehow rooting for each character.” Jay Long, Hudson Valley Insider

June 2012 - IT IS DONE review:: “With a nod to Stephen King and a bow to Edgar Allen Poe, this one act is really fun and great theater.” Patricia Foster Rye, Larchmont Chronicle.

May 24, 2012Review of It is Done: “Alex Goldberg’s haunting and very well-conceived drama...can join that august list of nontraditional top shows...A welcome addition to terrific theater staged without a theater.” Brad Schreiber, The Huffington Post

May 22, 2012Review of It is Done: “Goldberg’s delightfully creepy play is a little gem...A moody thriller...the play bends from a gritty Sam Shepard treatise on bourbon-swilling social outcasts to a Rod Serling script for an old “Twilight Zone,” complete with Hank Williams and his twanging guitar whining away on an ancient jukebox.” Travis Michael Holder, Back Stage Magazine West

May 21, 2012Review of It is Done: “Alex Goldberg’s edge-of-your-seat thriller...packs one hell of a wallop...With its truly surprising twists and turns, Goldberg’s thriller is a gasp-worthy winner.” Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA

May 17, 2012 - Review of It is Done: “Alex Goldberg (has a) gift for dialogue...The twist in It is Done is undeniably creepy...I hadn’t seen it coming, and surprise goes a long way with someone raised on ‘70s sitcoms.” Margaret Gray, Los Angeles Times

November 22, 2011 - Review of It is Done: “It Is Done is a show like no other. It is terrifying and hilarious and thought provoking all at once.”  Kimberly Laurenne, Show Business Weekly

November 16, 2011 -Review for It is Done:It is Done will thrill you, surprise you, and have you walking away shaking a bit in your boots…As an active playgoer, I see a lot of shows and normally I can “see it coming.”  This one completely blindsided me especially the ending.  Although it works well in an actual bar, this could go on to a full sized Off-Broadway theater; it’s that good.”  Karen Nowosad, Newark Theater Examiner

November 16, 2011BACKSTAGE.COM CRITIC’S PICK: “Vague supernaturalism, whiskey, and Hank Williams on the jukebox make this Sam Shepard’s stomping ground, but Goldberg keeps a sure footing. The playwright has a keen gift for dark humor, as well as an enthralling style of slowly unspooling information. Ojeda’s performance drives the production, featuring densely textured line readings that make each word sound like its own sentence. She plays Ruby as the ultimate alpha female, zipping ably among the seductive, comical, and dangerous aspects of her character while leading poor Jonas (and us) to whatever grotesque place she pleases.” Mitch Montgomery, Back Stage

November 16, 2011 - Review of It is Done: “Tom Wojtunik’s direction is fabulous…The actors all come through with strong performances.  By putting the audience in the midst of the action the creepiness factor is upped, the tension is tightened and the payoff is higher.  If you’re looking for something different, you’ll find it here.  If you’re looking for a good night of theatre with a twist – this is it.  Either way, It Is Done gets it done.”  Karen Tortora-Lee, The Happiest Medium,

November 14, 2011 - Review of It is Done: “I really enjoyed this piece.  It was fantastic.  I found it much better written than many other things I’ve seen lately.”  Michael Portantiere, Broadway Radio

November 16, 2011 - Review of It is Done: “Alex Goldberg has written a compelling, not to mention scary, play about human nature.  Director Tom Wojtunik wonderfully brings out the other side of all of the characters.  Hats off to Catia Ojeda for so amazingly dominating the action of this unconventional story.”  Ed Malin, nytheatre.com

November 17, 2011 - Review of It is Done “An intimate, engaging comedy-thriller.  It Is Done is a fun, entertaining ninety minutes of theater that takes advantage of its site-specificity without feeling gimmicky — and as a bonus, each ticket comes with a free drink.”  This Week in New York,

November 9, 2011 - Review of It is Done, New York City: "Goldberg has written a smart script that entertains from start to finish.  I'd honestly go see this show again -- It's a fantastic outing for any New York theatergoer, and perfect for a date or an evening with friends.  There is quality throughout this production and I highly recommend you check it out."  Ben Charles, Theater is Easy.
